The SPECTRUM Group Welcomes Its Newest Members

April 2008

The SPECTRUM Group continues to expand its consulting services, most recently in the areas of information technology, science education, and aviation security, with the recent addition of its newest members Mr. William Mayfield, Ms. Cyndy Mickevicius and Captain Mark Weiss.

Mr. William T. Mayfield has had a distinguished career in naval surface warfare, anti-air warfare, command and control, Navy personnel management systems, information system management, program management, defense analyses, information security, information warfare, net-centric systems concepts, and enterprise information architectures. He has also served as an IT expert for the Institute for Defense Analysis, where he received the Gen. Andrew J. Goodpasture Award for the body of research he performed in Information Security.

Ms. Cyndy Mickevicius brings over twenty years of experience in science research and science education to The SPECTRUM Group Youth Programs Division, with a main emphasis on the DoD STARBASE program. STARBASE is a nationally based educational program that raises the interest and improves the knowledge and skills of youth in the areas of math, science, and technology. In recent years she has worked as a Senior Education Associate at the American Chemical Society to develop and establish programs for high school students and teachers throughout the nation.

Captain Mark Weiss brings extensive experience in the aviation industry, especially in aviation and transportation security. His distinguished career as a pilot with American Airlines included service on the Industry Panel of the Federal Air Marshal Service, the Cargo Working Group of the Aviation Security Advisory Committee, and the American Airlines Joint Security Committee. Captain Weiss made significant contributions to the Security Incident Reporting System with NASA, the Common Strategy for the Transportation Security Administration, and the Crew Member Self Defense Training Program. His expertise has been enlisted to respond to critical security situations worldwide.

The combined knowledge and experience of our newest members will further enable The SPECTRUM Group to provide the best strategies and solutions to our clients in both the public and private sectors.
