TSG Congressional Team Successful Again on Capitol Hill
Posted on November 30, 2008
While the U.S. government spends nearly 400 billion dollars a year procuring goods and services, there is no denying that the 2009 appropriations cycle on Capitol Hill was a difficult one. With only three appropriations bills passed, it took political experience, a working knowledge of the appropriations process and access to key House and Senate members and committee staff to get the job done.
Again in 2008, The SPECTRUM Group (TSG) called upon its Congressional team to deliver success in obtaining appropriations results for its clients. Nearly a dozen clients relied on TSG to develop legislative language or secure funding support for various projects.
TSG’s congressional relations team has a long history of legislative and appropriations success for its clients. TSG’s strategy in accessing a client’s federal market potential, preparing the client to approach federal agencies and the Congress and positioning the firm before key decision makers has a proven track record of success. Long-term relationships with Capitol Hill, Department of Defense, and the services, as well as an intimate understanding of what a government agency requires to meet specific needs have been invaluable in our working with clients to customize or develop products or services to meet those requirements.
“Our goal is to get the client in the door, in front of the right people, and then get them in the budget,” said Diane O’Toole, President of TSG’s Congressional Relations division. “We were very successful this year and look forward to working with the new Congress and President-elect Obama’s administration.”
