Biography:

Following careers with the US Army and defense industry, Lieutenant General Donald M. Lionetti, US Army (Retired) remains engaged as a National Security Consultant in fileds of his expertise: ground based air and missile defense; space applications in support of terrestrial military operations; and related research, technology and acquisition.

As Vice President, Air Missile Defense Systems for Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control - Orlando, he led efforts in support of the Medium Extended Air Defense System (MEADS) within a joint venture involving European industry. For two years he was Chairman of the MEADS International board of directors.

His last three active duty Army assignments were:

- Commanding General, US Army Space and Strategic Defense Command. General Lionetti was the senior Army spokesman for missile defense, and the principal advocate for tailored military space products to support terrestrial operations.

- Chief of Staff, US Army Training and Doctrine Command. He synchronized the efforts of an 1100 person staff during the Army’s major redirection following the first Gulf War.

- Commanding General, US Army Air Defense Artillery Center, Fort Bliss. General Lionetti developed operational concepst and materiel requirements, which later were validated in Operation Desert Storm. He planned and executed deployment of over 11,000 soldiers to Southwest Asia, including most of the Patriot units.

His credentials include National War College, Command and General Staff College and Masters Degree in Engineering from Arizona State University. He is a graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point.
