Biography:

General J.B. Davis concluded a thirty-five-year career with the U.S. Air Force in 1993 as Chief of Staff, Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers, Europe (NATO). During his career, he also served as Commander, Pacific Air Forces; Commander, U.S. Forces-Japan and 5th Air Force; and Commander, U.S. Air Force Military Personnel Center. In the 1990s, General Davis was deeply involved in the successful negotiations for support of U.S. Forces in Japan and the Japanese financial support of U.S. Forces in Desert Storm. In NATO, he was the chief negotiator with the North Atlantic Council and the U.N. for NATOs participation in the Yugoslavian conflict.

His post-retirement activities include Commissioner on the Base Closure Commission and the Service Members and Veterans Transition Commission. General Davis also served as safety czar for ValuJet Airline and directed its recovery. He was named by the Secretary of Defense to review the viability of the CV-22.

Education:

General Davis has a B.S. degree in Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and a Masters degree in Public Administration from Auburn University.
