- Mr. Palmer joined the Spectrum Group in 2008 and provides over 27 years of broad-based expertise in business management, Lean Six Sigma business processes, business development, capture management, product management/introduction, merger and acquisition support, and communications technology markets. His expertise in communications technologies include satellite, wireless, backhaul solutions, IT infrastructure, communications security, broadband services, tactical and strategic military communications, and intelligence/surveillance/reconnaissance (ISR) systems. His market experience includes Defense, Intelligence community, Homeland Security, & Commercial communications markets. His leadership experience includes business sizes from start-ups to large corporations.
Biography:
Grant Palmer founded Ephemeris Consulting Group, Inc. in February of 2002. Since that time he has served as President and supported clients with business development, capture management, merger and acquisitions, product/service development, partnership development, project management, and business process improvement. Clients have included companies such as Harris GCSD, Harris Broadcast, BellSouth, General Dynamics, Andrew, L3-Datron, Datapath, EADS, Gilat, and CSC.
His previous positions have included key management roles at Tripoint Global Communications (now General Dynamics), Starband (a start-up venture from Spacenet), Spacenet (through ownership changes from AT&T, GE, and Gilat), and Harris Government Communications Systems Division. In his early career he was an advanced technology communications systems engineer at Harris and General Dynamics, and prior to his corporate career he served in the US Army in the Pershing nuclear missile program.
Education:
Mr. Palmer holds a BS in Electrical Engineering Communications Systems (Summa Cum Laude) from Mississippi State University and a MS in Electrical Engineering Communications Systems from Florida Tech. He also holds certifications in program management, product/service management, Six Sigma process definition/improvement (Black Belt), lean manufacturing, customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise risk management (ERM), and financial control.
