Biography:
Mr. Jim Curran is senior program manager of the DoD STARBASE evaluation and assessment project for The SPECTRUM Group. This program is a five year option contract with the Office of the Secretary of Defense/Reserve Affairs to upgrade the math and science skills of our youth of the nation. Prior to coming to TSG, Curran has had almost fifty years of experience in research, program development, evaluation and management. As a senior manager of several research and consulting firms in the private and public sectors, he worked in management development, strategic planning, manpower, productivity assessment, program evaluation, survey and panel analysis, business development and marketing analysis.
Recent assignments at Mantech included the program management of several projects and the management and marketing of various ID/IQ pre-qualified contract vehicles including the OPM, Department of Justice, and the Defense Enterprise Integration Services II (DEISII) contracts. As Senior Vice President and Executive/President of SYCOM, CPS and EISI at Aerospace Sciences and Hadron, he oversaw the operational management of those companies. At HUMRRO International, Inc., (HII) he was the Senior General Manager and Vice President and had overall management of each operating unit. Assignments at Hauk-Anthony Companies a Executive Vice President, President of Consulting Services; as Principal/Senior Associate at Furash and Company, a bank management consulting firm; and as a Director of several divisions at the American Banking Association (ABA); and then at various research firms such as CRESS, SORO AIR and URC, the latter organizations focused primarily on military study areas. His research experience focused on the Far East and the newly independent states of the former Soviet Union.
He has also worked in the Washington, D.C. area on the model cities project in support of
the Anti-Poverty efforts of the United Planning Organization. Other study areas included mental illness, political elites, economic warfare, PSYOPS, anti-insurgency, juvenile delinquency and anti-drug programs.
Education:
Mr. Curran did his graduate work at Springfield College in Massachusetts and at the University of Pittsburgh. He has held teaching and research positions at Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Oklahoma, and the University of Pittsburgh.
