Biography:
Mr. Jeffrey H. Joseph has been in the forefront of many key domestic, economic and national security policy issues over the past 35 years. As head of Domestic Policy for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, he lead many vital advocacy efforts on behalf of the business community, while also managing one of D.C.s larger lobbying and policy operations. Since 1979, he has taught courses on key public policy issues at both the George Washington University and George Mason University. For most of the past decade, he has been working in the defense, homeland security and technology fields.
Mr. Joseph worked with DARPA to promote partnerships focused on using the Internet to advance lifelong learning opportunities for the military and the private sector, as well as the development of electronic patient records to help modernize and transform medical systems. This effort lead to the incorporation of the not-for-profit, Community Learning & Information Network (CLIN), which became heavily involved with the National Guard Bureau and helped architect their Distance Learning Network/DTTP program. Mr. Joseph remains Vice Chairman of CLIN, which is currently working on BioTerrorism education/outreach efforts for the District of Columbia.
Mr. Joseph also serves as Managing Director of Digital-Vending Services International LLC (D-VSI), a for-profit corporation that owns certain patents and other intellectual property assets originally developed by CLIN.
Mr. Joseph was a major spokesman for the U.S. Chamber, testified regularly before Congressional Committees, and appeared on numerous national television programs. He remained Senior Consultant to the U.S. Chamber through 1999. He also founded the U.S. Chamber affiliate, the Center for Workforce Preparation, which designed and implemented innovative programs that focused on Americas growing skills gap
Mr. Joseph previously worked at several government agencies, serving in both management consulting and legal positions at the U.S. Department of the Interior and the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission.
Education:
Mr. Joseph received his M.A. in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania, with studies concentrated in the Wharton School Multinational Enterprise Unit. A member of the DC and Pennsylvania Bars, he earned his J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law, and Certificate from The Hague Academy of International Law. His holds a B.A. from The George Washington University.
