- Admiral McCarthy joined The SPECTRUM Group in September 2007as a consultant focusing on operational logistics, supply chain management and financial management. His extensive experience and knowledge in these three functional areas has assisted clients ranging from major defense contractors to small businesses. As an undergraduate engineer and logistician, he has a unique ability to marry analytical skills with real world experience and deliver timely and effective client solutions. His experience in the joint arena has been invaluable in providing comprehensive cross-service solutions to our clients.
Biography:
Vice Admiral McCarthy completed a 37 year career in the United States Navy and retired from military service in April, 2007. As a Supply Corps officer he served in a variety of sea and shore duty assignments providing him extensive leadership, logistics and financial management experience. His assignments included senior leadership positions on the Navy staff, the Pacific Fleet staff, the Navy Surface Force, the Navy supply system and the Defense Logistics Agency.
Following his retirement from military service, Dan established Silver Eagle Consulting, Inc., a firm dedicated to providing business and leadership consulting support to both public and private sector organizations. His clients include companies from both the defense and non-defense sectors as well as several government entities.
Dan currently serves as a Director of both Agility Defense and Government Services and the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society. He is an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of Virginia Darden Graduate School of Business Administration and lectures routinely at both the University of North Carolina and the Naval Postgraduate School. He is a Certified Government Financial Manager and an Acquisition Professional.
Education:
Admiral McCarthy holds a B.S. degree in Engineering from Oakland University and an M.S. in Management from the Naval Postgraduate School. He is also a distinguished graduate of the Naval War College and a graduate of the University of Michigan Executive Education Program.
