Biography:
Lieutenant General John B. "Skip" Hall, Jr. USAF (ret.) concluded a 33-year career with the U.S. Air Force as the Commander of United States Forces Japan and 5th Air Force. During his career, he also served as Director of East Asia and Pacific Security Affairs in the Office of the Secretary of Defense and as Director of Planning and Programming for Pacific Air Forces. General Hall has extensive experience in International Affairs and Security Policy issues in the East and South Asia region. In the mid-1990s, he was deeply involved in all aspects of U.S. security relationships in the region stretching from Hawaii to India, including development of national security policy documents and negotiation of country-to-country agreements.
A command fighter pilot, General Hall is an experienced strategic planner and programmer and has hands-on experience in resource allocation, organization restructuring, and human relations. He is an expert on East Asian political-military policy having spent almost fifteen years of his career serving in the Pacific Rim nations. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, General Hall has attended senior executive management courses at Harvard and MIT, and holds an MPA from Golden Gate University.
