- General Riggs is a member of the Army Division at SPECTRUM. He has extensive knowledge of Army programs and operations, as well as organizational transformation.
Biography:
Lieutenant General John M. Riggs worked his way up through the ranks in the U.S. Army to Lieutenant General, culminating as Director of the Objective Force Task Force, with responsibility for creating a high-tech Army for the 21st Century; Transformation of the U.S. Army. Prior to that, he served as: Commanding General, 1st U.S. Army, Fort Gillem, Georgia; Commanding General, 7th Infantry Division and Fort Carson, Colorado. General Riggs commanded at all levels and earned a Distinguished Flying Cross for bravery during the Vietnam War. His overseas assignments included Vietnam, Belgium, Korea, and Germany with selected short temporary duty assignments to other countries. He was the Military Assistant to the Deputy Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Brussels. General Riggs served as the Deputy Commanding General of the U.S. Army Aviation School and Ft. Rucker, Alabama. He also served in various positions on the Army Staff in the Pentagon including Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations and Plans.
Education:
General Riggs holds a B.A. in Political Science from Tarkio College, a M.A. in Personnel Management and Administration from Central Michigan University, and a Post Graduate Senior Service Fellowship at Harvard University
