Biography:
Major General Norman Delbridge concluded a distinguished thirty-six year military career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as the Deputy Chief of Engineers. He was responsible for over $10 billion in annual programs of the Corps, as well as for other federal and foreign agencies worldwide. As the Assistant Chief of Engineers, General Delbridge developed and presented to the Congress plans and programs for Army military construction, family housing, and real property maintenance programs in support of annual legislation. As Commanding General of the Corps European Division he served as the Department of Defense Construction Agent for the United States and NATO in ten European countries.
General Delbridge serves as a consultant to the Engineering and Construction Industry in all aspects of its domestic and international programs. He additionally represents the application of lightweight armor products to a variety of defense requirements. In the Construction Industry, he has served as Chairman of the Board of Engineers for Rivers and Harbors, as President of the California Debris Commission, on the board of Directors of the American Public Works Association, and as a member of the Coastal Engineering Research Board, the Transportation Research Board, and with the National Research Council of the National Academy of Science. He is an elected member of the National Academy of Construction and the Moles, a national fraternity of the heavy construction industry.
Education:
General Delbridge graduated from the United States Military Academy, and holds a Masters degree in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University. He is a graduate of the Army War College and the Executive Program at Harvard University. He is a Registered Professional Engineer.
