Biography:
Robert Draper is a specialist in trans-Atlantic security & defense marketing, industrial teaming and international business development strategy. He retired in early 2003 as Regional Vice President for The Boeing Company defense sector, based in Brussels, Belgium, where he has now made his home. During a career spanning more than 35 years with Boeing, Mr. Draper has also held key positions in engineering, flight operations, program management and product support. He has spent roughly half of his career in the US, based in Seattle and Washington, DC, and the remainder on overseas assignments in London, Toronto, Paris and Brussels. He is an expert in total quality methodology, which he has taught extensively, and was instrumental in developing the integrated team approach to aircraft design, manufacture, sales and support.
In addition to his SPECTRUM Group appointment Mr. Draper is president of AeroStrategies, SPRL, which offers support to companies seeking trans-Atlantic business growth, and is marketing vice-president and co-founder of SecEUR, a Brussels-based information service on EU homeland security. He is president of the American Defense Industries Forum in Brussels, and a past-president of the Association of US Aerospace Industries Representatives in Paris. Mr. Draper earned an honors degree in aeronautical engineering from the University of Nottingham in England. He holds a US commercial pilot certificate, is fluent in French and speaks some Spanish and German. He is a dual national of the US and the UK.
