Biography:
Mr. Timothy F. Deerr is the former Executive Director of the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, with responsibility for the investigation of felony crime and the conduct of the USAF counterintelligence program. A former member of the Senior Executive Service, he has over 30 years experience as a Federal Agent in the fields of criminal investigation, counterintelligence, and counterterrorism operations, and is an national expert in counterespionage operations. He was appointed the first Deputy Director of the multi-agency National Counterintelligence Center (NACIC), where he played a critical role in the coordination of the U.S. strategic counterintelligence effort. He has served on numerous national-level boards related to counterintelligence, law enforcement and security policy, and was a formative voice in the creation of the Department of Defense’s computer forensics program. He has also served as a Special Assistant to the Department of State’s Counterterrorism Coordinator.
Mr. Deerr currently serves as a Senior Subject Matter Expert at the Department of Defenses Counterintelligence Field Activity. He is a Presidential Rank Award recipient and received the prestigious National Intelligence Medal by the Director of Central Intelligence in recognition of his career contributions to the national counterintelligence program.
