Biography:
Lieutenant General Tom Glisson, U.S. Army Retired, culminated a 35 year Army career in logistics as Director, Defense Logistics Agency, with overall responsibility for operation and management of a global logistics organization, DoD's largest, with a $17 billion dollar budget and 43,000 people worldwide. Agency functions included procurement, management and distribution worldwide for repair parts, food, clothing, textiles, pharmaceuticals, medical supplies and equipment, petroleum products, industrial supplies and energy (electricity, natural gas and coal); providing electronic business, logistics information management and materiel disposal; and administering $850 billion in customer contract. He also served as the 44th Quartermaster General of the Army responsible for the operation and management of a training center for 22,000 logistics personnel worldwide and development of logistical operational procedures and equipment and as Commanding General, U.S. Army Soldier Systems Command, responsible for providing product research, design, development, component integration, testing and acquisition of clothing and textiles, food products, air delivery systems and field equipment for the DoD. He was selected in 2001 by Supply Chain Technical News as one of the Top 25 Supply Executives in the United States.
After leaving the Active Duty, he spent 6 years with BearingPoint, Inc. where he served first as Director, Pacific Operations, with overall budget and line responsibility for administration, management, business development and delivery of BearingPoint Public Services consulting services for all Federal (Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marines), higher education and State and Local Governments in the Pacific Rim (Hawaiian Islands, Guam, Samoa, Okinawa, Mainland Japan and South Korea); then as Managing Director, administration, management, business development and delivery of BearingPoint consulting services to Army clients in the United States and Europe.
