Spectrum Experience:
- General Schenk is a member of the Army Division at SPECTRUM. He has expertise in complex organizational problem-solving, strategic planning and execution, defense acquisition, and technology development management. He maintains close ties not only with the Tank-automotive and Armaments Command where he served for 13 years, but also with the full range of emerging technology companies in Southeast Michigan.
Biography:
Brigadier General Donald F. Schenk held a wide variety of operational and acquisition assignments during his 33 year military career. As a member of the Army Acquisition Corps, he has had some of the most difficult assignments associated with Army modernization and transformation. As the first Program Manager for both the Stryker Brigade Combat Team and Future Combat Systems (FCS), he was instrumental in shaping not only the acquisition programs, but also in developing the Warfighting requirement. He led the diverse government-industry team for FCS through the transition from concept and technology development to system development and demonstration. He has had operational assignments in peace and war from company thru division level culminating with assignment as Executive Officer, 2d Brigade, 1st Infantry Division (Mechanized) during Operation Desert Storm.
In the period following his retirement, General Schenk has focused his energies on providing professional consulting services and support to both government and private clients.
Education:
General Schenk is a graduate of the Army War College and Defense Acquisition University, and earned academic degrees from both Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College) and Central Michigan University.
